Amy Wilson, from Dunville, was winning prizes at the Kiwanis Music Festival when she was 9. Half Woodman and half Wilson, her musical talent comes from her accordion playing grandfather, William Woodman, and her Great Uncle Ernie Wilson who wrote Merasheen Farewell. They gave her a love for folk music and many say her voice reminds them of her Aunt Rosarii Withers' (Wilson) voice that could be heard filling Holy Rosary Church in Freshwater. Amy has a Bachelor of Music Education and teaches music at Fatima Academy and English at Laval High School while mentoring private voice and piano students. She is one of three lead singers in the cover band Ten Minute City. She and Ryan Jacobs have teamed up to record covers of some old time favourites found on YouTube. Amy is working on her solo music career and is always looking for new musical projects.
